Dental Implants
Services We Offer- Dental Implants
At Mid Cities Dental, implants are a great way to replace your missing teeth and also provide a fixed solution to having removable partial or complete dentures. Dental implants provide excellent support and stability for these dental appliances. Dental implants are artificial roots and teeth (usually titanium) that are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone by an implant trained dentist. The teeth attached to implants are very natural looking and often enhance or restore a patient’s smile! Dental implants are very strong, stable, and durable and will last many years, but on occasion, they will have to be re-tightened or replaced due to normal wear.
- Replace one or more of your missing teeth without affecting adjacent teeth.

- Support your bridge or denture by making them more secure and comfortable.
What is involved in getting dental implants?
The process of getting implants requires a number of visits over several months to our office.
We will take X-rays and impressions (molds) of your jaw and teeth. This will help us to determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing available for your implant. At another appointment, your implant will be surgically placed into your jawbone. Then it will be allowed to heal and attach itself to the bone. This healing process takes anywhere from three to six months. After that healing period, a post is placed in the implant which creates a place to securely attach your artificial teeth.
These artificial teeth whether they are crowns, bridges, or dentures are made and fitted to the post portion of the anchor. Depending on the procedure, this can take one or several appointments to complete.
You will receive care instructions when your treatment is completed. Good oral hygiene, eating habits, and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new implant.
