Your smile is a window into your health, and maintaining a healthy mouth requires regular upkeep and attention. But you may be wondering, is it safe to visit the dentist during the COVID-19 pandemic? Oral hygiene is important, but maybe brushing and flossing at home is enough until the pandemic is over.
Many of us have been asking ourselves these very questions. The answer is simple – dental health is still a priority. You were born with one set of teeth, and they should not be neglected. At Mid Cities Dental, we want to make sure your teeth are taken care of. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have taken many precautions to ensure a safe, risk-free environment for you and your pearly whites.
Here are some of the measures we are taking to help keep you safe during your procedure.
The Staff at Mid Cities Dental Always Wear Protective Equipment
The staff at Mid Cities Dental take every precaution to reduce harmful aerosol sprays and eliminate the risk of airborne infection. Everyone working wears masks at all times. Staff also wear face shields, a double mask system, and full medical gowns to mitigate airborne droplets and keep you and the staff safe during your procedure.
Mid Cities Dental Reduces Your Exposure to Other Patients
We do our best to ensure each patient comes into contact with as few people as possible. We know that busy waiting rooms pose a possible health hazard, so we have designed and implemented a system to mitigate this risk.
First, patients are asked to call or text the office when they arrive, then wait outside for a staff member. Next, a staff member will meet each patient outside and take their temperature immediately. After making sure the patient has a healthy temperature, they will be led individually into the office. This reduces contact with other patients and eliminates unnecessary traffic in the waiting room.
We Take Additional Precautions to Help Keep You Safe During Your Dental Visit
In addition to the safety gear worn by staff, Mid Cities Dental has installed efficient air purifiers with HEPA air filters to purify the air you breathe during your visit. HEPA air filtration systems capture superfine particles the size of the virus that causes COVID-19 and even smaller ones. If there is anything harmful getting in the air, our filters will catch it. High-volume suction equipment is also used during each procedure to minimize exposure and risk to patients and staff.
